Enter the full birth date and the last four digits of a California driver license or identification number. A voter without either can use the last four digits of a Social Security number. This is personal verification, not a browse-by-name voter roll. A failed match may reflect a typo, a recently changed record, or the authentication fields used. The fallback is the Orange County Registrar of Voters at 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana, or (714) 567-7600. Staff can address a voter's own registration issue without turning the system into a public people directory.
California Voter Status for Lake Forest

A participation entry shows that a voter took part in an election. Ballot choices remain secret. That difference matters when reading Lake Forest voter records: turnout history is an administrative fact, not a record of how anyone voted.
Confidential Lake Forest Voter Information
California Elections Code § 2194 controls the public and confidential split. Registration affidavit information covered by state law cannot appear on routine public terminals, lists, or affidavits at county election offices. Confidential voters do not appear in ordinary lists, rosters, indexes, or public file requests. A statewide voter file is available only to a requester with a purpose allowed by California law. - Allow 7 to 14 business days. Registration data costs $15 per 1,000 records, with a $15 minimum and $100 maximum; the statewide file is $100.
- Receive the main data as encrypted, tab-delimited text files on DVD. Specific records may arrive through an encrypted zipped email attachment.
A specific voter registration record costs $30, capped at $100 for the request. Approval is not based on payment alone. The stated purpose and intended handling must qualify, and only the approved fields may be used in the approved way.
Order Orange County Voter Data
The county route can be more focused for authorized Lake Forest work. The Orange County data service provides the Data Order Application and explains how a qualified person or organization can request products. A wet signature, payment, supporting documents, and a current driver license or state ID copy are required for mailed orders. Applications must be mailed or delivered in person; the Registrar does not accept them by email or fax.

Lake Forest Voter File Limits
Lake Forest voter-file access carries duties after delivery. Elections Code § 2194 bars personal, private, and commercial use. State and county forms also forbid advertising, marketing, harassment, unapproved transfers, unsecured public posting, and sending the data outside the United States. The applicant must secure the file and share it only as the approval allows.
Use only as approved. Unlawful acquisition or use of California voter registration information can be a misdemeanor; threats or harassment should be reported to law enforcement.
These rules follow the data, including copied or filtered Lake Forest rows. A recipient cannot turn an authorized file into a public directory or pass it to a new beneficiary without authority. Delete or secure working copies when the approved task ends, and contact the Registrar or Secretary of State before changing the declared use.
VoteCal Maintains Lake Forest Rolls
VoteCal has served as California's official centralized voter registration system since September 26, 2016. Under the county's voter-list maintenance process, an inactive record may be cancelled after two federal general elections if the person neither responds nor votes nor confirms the registration.
Note: An inactive status is part of a notice-and-confirmation process, while cancellation follows the stated period and lack of voter response or activity.
Lake Forest Voter Registration Count
During the July 13, 2026 inspection, OC Data Central listed Lake Forest with 55,793 registered voters. The same inspection showed 1,904,881 active voters and 145,959 inactive voters across Orange County. Those figures are a dated snapshot, not a fixed population total.
The city selector confirmed the Lake Forest count, but a city-level party breakdown was not available in the static page view. Current reports should be checked before citing the figure in civic research. Registration totals change as new forms arrive, voters move, records become inactive, and VoteCal or county maintenance updates the roll.
Modern status tools do not cover historical registration. Lake Forest incorporated in 1991, so earlier local registrations would be Orange County records and may use El Toro or Saddleback Valley as the place name. Older searches can require county or state archival holdings instead of a current voter portal.
